FAQ's

What is your photography style?

Primarily practicing as documentary photographers, our style is reportage. This ensures we capture all those special moments and gestures. We cover the events of your wedding day with as little intrusion as possible, looking for the emotions, natural expressions and details that make each wedding unique. As experienced portrait and studio photographers we also shoot stylish photographs of couples when they are spending some intimate time together after the ceremony. Using minimal direction, and a location convenient to you, these portraits generally take 20 minutes or less and the images produced are often favourites.

Will the photographers be intrusive?
The good thing about hiring reportage wedding photographers is that for most of the day you won’t know they’re there. When we are shooting portraits we will direct you so that you’re looking great. For the rest of the day please ignore us!

How about formal group photographs?
Any group shots of family and friends are done in a fun, stress free way. These are done quickly so the day can move along and people can have fun!

Do you take colour and black and white images?
Yes. Both colour and black and white images are taken. As photographers we generally see an image in either black and white or colour before it is captured depending on the details of the scene. A beautifully printed black and white photograph can look very stylish in your album or mounted and framed on your wall. We take a lot, so there will be plenty to choose from.

How many photos will you take?
We are not ‘trigger happy’ photographers, but we do end the day with a lot of high quality images. We will provide you with at least 300 images, although often we present nearer 500.

Can I give you a 'wish list' of photos I want?
Yes, you can. Around a month before the wedding we will discuss the sort of images you’d like, as well as any group shots you’d like. We usually advise a maximum of 10 group shots - you really don’t want to spend your wedding day doing group shots! We are very flexible but as reportage photographers people generally hire us to capture the day as it unfolds.

When do you start the day?
We start photographing whenever you want us to. We are happy to begin wherever the bride is getting ready, even before the makeup artist or anyone else has arrived. We will stay for up to 7 or 9 hours (depending on the package you choose) and any hours after that are negotiable.

Do you use an assistant?
No. As documentary photographers we are used to carrying our own equipment. We like to be as unobtrusive as possible and so we have decided not to use any additional staff.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use two professional 35mm cameras with a range of lenses, flash and back-up equipment.

Do you mind if our guests take photographs during the wedding?
No, we don't mind at all. It is your wedding and your guests will want to take photographs as a record of the day.

How long before we see our proofs?
Photographs will be ready to view within 40 days of your wedding. The album is generally available a couple of weeks later.

Do you charge extra for travel?
We are based in Cardiff, South Wales, but can travel all over the UK for weddings. We charge 40p per mile for anywhere further than a 50-mile radius of Cardiff.
